One of the technical components behind engine performance is the airbox. Its
characteristics such as volume, shape, length of intake trumpets, and size and roughness of its surfaces help to achieve optimum performance and allow the engine to draw in as much air as possible. The fully exposed carbon fiber version makes the concept even more extreme: thanks to the technical experience gained in composites, this ultralight material offers a considerable reduction in weight compared with the aluminum version while still delivering the same performance.
